I added the Window Selector Applet to both the top and bottom panels - it's
supposed to display a folder icon but usually displays an icon for firefox
instead (randomly of course choosing between two different firefox icons)
and the list of windows it displays is complete only some of the time -
sometimes all of them appear and sometimes only the windows from the lower
monitor appear - this happens on both the upper and lower panel

There doesn't seem to be an obvious way to diagnose what's wrong much less
fix the problem - the panels are supposed to be GUI configurable but the UI
is less than intuitive to say the least - I accidentally removed the show
desktop applet and had to add it back again I had to delete the workspace
switrcher add the show desktop applet and readd theshow desktop applet to
get back to what I had when I started and again there seems to be an
invisible workspace switcher in the top panel which I cannot access at all.
