Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

In Karmic, gnome-panel hangs for about 50 seconds after resuming from suspended state.
Certain applets appear instantly (e.g. system monitor), others are invisible but respond to mouse events (e.g. volume control), and others are invisible and don't respond (menus, launchers).

From the backtrace it looks like panel_place_menu_item_append_gtk_bookmarks is waiting for an icon.
I'll try to find out if it's a specific bookmark that's causing this wait, I've got a GVFS SSH bookmark in there, maybe it's that.

I tried removing the remote bookmark, and now the panel loads instantly.
I had the same remote bookmark in Jaunty, but never saw this problem.

Interestingly, bookmarks which point to the root of the server filesystem seem to be ok. It's only bookmarks to non-root server directories that cause the delay.
