I am using a fresh install of Karmic Alpha 5 updated to Sept. 10.

Switching between 2 displays works fine when I use System / Preferences / Display.

However, when I use a command such as

xrandr --output VGA1 --off ; xrandr --output LVDS1 --preferred

the bottom gnome panel will jump to the top.

The problem occurs regardless of whether I switch from LVDS1 to VGA1 or vice versa. I never had this problem in Intrepid.

Some additional testing: If I switch the laptop lcd off and then back on (xrandr --output LVDS1 --off ; xrandr --output LVDS1 --preferred), I get the same results.
