The Fix suggested here would effectively mean duplication of the "Trash" in a default install.[applet and in places menu]

@arky: The Go menu also lists Templates folder, should that be in the Places menu too?
As mentioned earlier , we already have a trash applet by default , the issue is with the Description being "Menu" , that needs fixing rather than duplicating. Further the trash can be added as an extra bookmark, if frequently used.
[I do realize the accessibility work you do for blind users though :) ]

I'v raised this issue with the accessibility team and marking as incomplete awaiting their assessment.
