Thanks Doug, that worked well. Is it gsettings that doesn't support single key shortcuts, like 'Insert'? I was able to use 'Insert' to launch a terminal via 'Shortcuts > Custom Shortcuts' in 11.10 and GNOME 3. Is there an way to use single key shortcuts, other than switching off of GNOME 3?
