Further information:

As we better better effects with GL, compiz... it could be very nice to have diferent Wallpapers in each Workspace, or the posibility to use one streched in all of them, that way give a sense of continuity in the X.

wallpapoz is not a nice solution; it detects a change of workspace and then loads a wallpaper which causes an unacceptable lag. I found it to be useless for what I want.
