Bug Description

Binary package hint: glom

Ubuntu Hardy Heron currently has Glom 1.6.6. The latest version is Glom 1.6.9 which has several important fixes. I can't imagine any risk to shipping the latest version in Hardy.

This bug contains a discussion of updating the version in Gutsy, and currently demands that multiple patches be filed against the current version instead of just updating to the latest upstream tarball:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glom/+bug/186869

Hopefully something more realistic is possible for Hardy at this stage (after the freeze, but before the stable release).

I was planning on working on this, but I was waiting for https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libgda3/+bug/200292 to close since glom 1.6.9 requires libgda3 3.0.2 .

Closing this bug would probably also close this one:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glom/+bug/200194

as well.

Chris.

Please consider a feature freeze exception for this package. This new version of this software is mostly bugfixes (see changelog above).

Apart from the reformatting named in changelog, all others seem to be only bug fixes. ACK #1.

This bug was fixed in the package glom - 1.6.9-0ubuntu1

---------------
glom (1.6.9-0ubuntu1) hardy; urgency=low

  * New upstream release (LP: #201385)
  * Fixed package so that it depends on libgdamm3.0-dev instead of
    libgdamm-3.0-dev (LP: #200194)
  * Rebuild against updated libgdamm3.0 soname.

Thanks.

Note that this new Ubuntu package depends on postgres 8.3 instead of postgres 8.2. That would usually be good, but there is unfortunately a problem with postgres 8.3 that's fixed in upstream Glom 1.6.10, which I just released.

That's also mentioned on this launchpad bug report:

Murray,

Will you submit a new bug for this update? Go ahead and subscribe me to the new bug. I will probably wait to update glom until the most recent version of libgdamm3.0 enters ubuntu. See: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libgdamm3.0/+bug/190744

I didn't think it was necessary because it's a problem with the package uploaded via this bug, and because the problem is what was blocking
