git-buildpackage does not restore the orig-tarball correctly which is a pretty serious problem.

Steps to reproduce:
1) check out git.debian.org/git/collab-maint/wondershaper.git
2) run git-buildpackage

The orig-tarball I get from that is 12504 whereas the correct tarball is 12486.

FWIW, "pristine-tar checkout wondershaper_1.1a.orig.tar.gz" works fine and produces the correct tarball.
