Reporting same problem as Yves.
Dell Optiplex GX260, was running 8.04 LTS with no problems.

Upgraded to 10.04 & immediately had "no mouse cursor" problem after login.

Workaround = ctrl-alt-F1 then ctrl-alt-F7
