The first two screenshots show a bug in KDE. I think this has been addressed, hasn't it?

The terminal issue has to do with incorrect enabling of the Greek font in the console. It is a bug, and I think it has been recorded before (affects Ubuntu, Fedora, and probably others).

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your bugreport.

Could you please install the gtk version of gdebi and check if the problem exists there as well?

I have marked bug #146518 as a duplicate of this one. The problem seems to be that a lot of packages do not have support for utf-8 encoding in folder/file names.

The error messages say that there is no 'gdebi' domain.
Is the translation file called 'gdebi.mo'? You can change this text or you can comment out for now the commands that invoke the localisation messages, because these do not contribute to the problem.
The issue is to figure out a way so that the non-ASCII filenames are read and interpreted correctly.

Did you reinstall gdebi-core? It contains the mo files.

Here is my test results with hu_HU.UTF8 locale and the PPA version of gdebi:

debi-kde --help
Usage: gdebi-kde [options]

Options:
-h, --help show this help message and exit
  -n, --non-interactive
                        Futtatás nem interaktív módban (veszélyes!)

--

gdebi-kde βετα/gnome-app-install_0.5.12-0ubuntu1_all.deb
executable /usr/bin/gdebi-kde

No error window or any problem.

So please try reinstall the gdebi-core.

I think it's the same problem with this one:
If one runs
    kdialog --yesno δοκιμή
Greek characters *are not* displayed correctly in the dialog.

Maybe KCmdLineArgs doesn't support UTF-8?

"kdialog --yesno δοκιμή" works as well.

Whatever it was, I believe it was fixed :)

I've also tested it with Serbian, just installed the keyboard layout
(regional settings), but without installing the Serbian language.

Yes. This is the problem. I fixed it with optparse in gdebi-kde.

The crash has been fixed, but the install dosen't succeed, it produces the error message: The package file does not exist! This happens when there are characters like ö ä ü õ in file path.
This is important, because in Estonian the default download folder for the files - desktop is called 'töölaud'.

It should probably be included with the next update of gdebi.

I tested it and it works with "töölaud" directory above.

packagekit will now replace other package management in Kubuntu, am I right?
So the deprecated part is fixed and the default one still dosen't work :P the irony of software life-cycles =)
Should i make a new report?
