I agree with comment 71. So with character entities being turned into their
character equivalents, at the DOM end we'll see CRLFs and TABs, right? Then
Neil's patch is a good start (if not the answer), and until bug 47078 is fixed,
we'll get the complete IE behaviour (modulo "bugs") for free. Once bug 47078 is
fixed though, CRLFs in the HTML will become spaces and some of these
testcases/sites will stop working as expected (note that IMHO the expectation is
wrong). Do we want to introduce this now and "break" things later, or should we
wait till bug 47078 is fixed?
