Thank you Antonio for taking the time respond to my problem. I expect the firefox icon and the apps to appear on the left hand side of my screen, they don't when i start my desktop, i restarted my computer but didn't fix the problem, i can't provide a screenshot, because it doesn't let me, what can i do? thank you in advance.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug. Which desktop
environment are you using? Where exactly "on the screen" did you expect
the icon to appear? Could you perhaps provide a screenshot to illustrate
your problem?
