I do not have the blank screen after booting any more. So there is a progress. Still gnome shell is unusable because of poor performance and flickering. Rest is ok. Why should Canonical care about a competing desktop? I tried this Fedora 16 Live CD this week and I cannot even boot it - blank screen.
