Japanese translation file is empty

Binary package hint: emesene

Emesene package in Intrepid Ibex has empty japanese translation file.

I download source by apt-get and extract. I see all msgstr is empty in japanese translation file.

I found full translation file

but i find some wrong in this file.

Wrong : "No Picture" -> "画像がありません"
Right : "No Picture" -> "画像なし"
"No Picture" is button to reset avatar image in avatar image choice window.
"画像がありません" means "There is no picture."
"画像なし" means just "No Picture"!

I saw that you are working with this in LP, :https://translations.launchpad.net/emesene/1.0.x/+pots/emesene/ja/+translate , but you say that the file has only one error, the one that you post here. Can you confirm this please? If there are no more errors in the translation file, ill make a patch for emesene with a fix of this bug.

I confirmed one error in translation file.

The error is in these lines,
 line1570 : msgid "You have %(num)i unread message%(s)s"
 line1571 : msgstr "%(num)i 件の未読メッセージがあります"
Second argument 's' does not exist in msgstr.
But Japanese language does not need the nominal plural form.
I think that there is no other way.

It is me that have created the Japanese translation file, and now I am about to solve this problem but,...

As mstssk point out, the mis-translation should be fixed, but the user interface of Launchpad is tricky to use for me, so it may takes long time to correct/complete all translations.

So, can you tell me how to edit .po file directly and put it somewhere? Last year, I have uploaded my local .po file to Launchpad by using its upload form, but it was rejected.

Currently, the mis-translation is fixed, but other untranslated entries still remain because I cannot find them in the case of my using emesene.
