Are you sure that this bug is really a duplicate of #144641 ? Waiting your explications I remove the duplicate.

The problem here is that displayconfig-gtk can't use an xorg.conf (generated by the installation) without ServerLayout sections.

#144641 is when you use displayconfig-gtk to generate xorg.conf.
