Got same issue with digikam 2.4.1 / KDE 4.7.3

Note:
- mplayerthumbs is installed
- changing the engine from phonon to mplayer in mplayerthumbsconfig does not solve issue
- konqueror and dolphin still generates thumbnails when required.
