Bug Description
Binary package hint: cups
I did a fresh install of kubuntu 9.10.
Installed my printer (Minolta PagePro 8L via parallel port) via the kde printer system settings. It was detected automatically.
Printing any document (including the test page) results in following:
- the system tray printer applet is shown very shortly
- no error message is displayed
- no document appears at the printer
Previous versions of Kubuntu worked with this printer.

I don't think it's a duplicate of bug https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/bugs/ 489750
Print jobs quickly disappear from the queue. CPU and memory usage are normal.
Upgraded foomatic-filters and cups from proposed archive as suggested in /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ foomatic- filters/ +bug/463059

Doesn't help :-(
