Please run the following command

/usr/lib/cups/backend/parallel

and post its answer here. Especially in the case of not getting any answer, check /var/log/syslog whether new lines containing "audit" or lines with error messages appear. Please post these lines here.

Try also

sudo /usr/lib/cups/backend/parallel

and do the same as above.

Now try following the instructions of the section "AppArmor Protection of the printing system" on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems and repeat the commands above. Do you get answers now? Are you able to print now?
