This is not MS Windows. You can use any DE, for example: KDE, LXDE, XFCE or any other environment made manualy. There is no such bug in Kubuntu, Lubuntu and Xubuntu. It was your choise to install Ubuntu with Gnome or Unity.

Also you forgot that Ubuntu developers are making a big job. You can show them their mistakes, open and discuss bug reports. But you haven't got moral rights to scold them or insult. Even if you are absolutely disagree with them.
