Yes, it seems to be the same. I didn't see it while searching similar
problem.
The error in .xsession-errors seems to be the same.
In addition I can say, that after clicking couple of times on things in
the hidden panel like "processor monitor" and "shelf" (don't know the
real name in english), the panel start to be visible.
