Another thing I forgot: this is with Gutsy, and compiz version 1:0.6.0+git20071008-0ubuntu1. If I move the window left or right, it also is offset by the width of the left or right window border, but this is much less noticeable than the size of the titlebar.

The other bug I mentioned looks like it's already filed as Launchpad bug #151540.
