Comment 70 for bug 966480

I've been seeing this for the past 4-6 days. I've also noticed that the new media check (during startup) doesn't appear on the screen. It seemed to me the shutdown msg becoming unseen happened at the same time the media check became unseen.

In both cases, what I see is my bios's splash screen. It's like that's being invoked and kept on the screen. (I've seen this on an old Toshiba, and a new Acer.).
