For an xubuntu 14.04 VM, '-vga vmware' and '-vga qxl' work (yay), but '-vga std' and '-vga cirrus' are still corrupted.

(host qemu-kvm is running in debian/wheezy, version 1.1.2+dfsg-6+deb7u1)
