Opening Ubuntu Software Center temporarily is not an appropriate way to display installation progress of things like codecs, plug-ins, and so on. USC's window is very big, it has lots of clickable elements, it has a close button, and so on. The appropriate interface for installing a codec would be *something like* a small progress window, with a "Cancel" button but nothing else clickable. ubufox has the same requirement (bug 634915), so maybe it should be part of aptdaemon.
