My webcam is:

Bus 006 Device 002: ID 05a9:2640 OmniVision Technologies, Inc.

And works on intrepid, but not in Jaunty.

This workaround did not work with me.

export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so

export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l2convert.so
