Thank you Mike,
  we have not given up and have about two dozen of these tablets nicely
running Lubuntu & Xubuntu (both are 12.x). I'll forward this to the team
and we will try some of those settings. Just last night, the team was
looking at alsamixer to make the 3 built-in microphones work. I am sure
this will fix the issues and I hope the next time we build up one of these
tablets (probably for 13.x) it will just work out of the box. Do you need
me to mark anything as done or working?
