I added the repository and installed the module, and now it shows no sound cards installed. If I go to Sound Prefernces, Hardware no devices are listed anymore.

Running: cat /proc/asound/cards used to show the soundcard.

Now it reports:

cat: /proc/asound/cards: No such file or directory

FYI, this issue was also present in 10.04.
