Well, adding ppa:ubuntu-audio-dev/ppa did not help. After the reboot none of the audio inputs work. In the pavucontrol the inputs have a "red cross" symbol.
The whole pulseaudio business is aggravating! It just does not work for my card that HAS BEEN WORKING flawlessly with alsa and without pulseaudio before!!!
