Could anybody affected by this bug please try upgrading the HDA audio driver, as outlined here. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/UpgradingAlsa/DKMS.

If you have made changes to files in /etc/modprobe.d as suggested above, please undo those changes prior to updating.
