Comment 1 for bug 1133132

First, run this command to gather information:
apport-collect 1133132

Next, if you can reproduce the issue, make a verbose pulseaudio log

Finally, instead of rebooting after losing sound, try reloading alsa instead:
sudo alsa force-reload
