Attached are four screenshots to illustrate, one illustrating the Ubuntu style ,which does not adapt to theme colors, and one illustrating the Classic style that does. The first set are using the Nodoka-Midnight light-on-dark GTK theme, and the second is using a GTK Theme of my own creation that uses dark-on-light, but with non-white input boxes
Note how the text entry areas at the bottom (and all similar widgets in the theme) are a non-white color, but the message history area is always white in the Ubuntu chat style, which makes it not integrate well to these GTK themes.
