Might be safer to make a backup:

cd /usr/share/dbus-1/services/
sudo mv org.freedesktop.Telepathy.Client.AbiCollab.service org.freedesktop.Telepathy.Client.AbiCollab.service.bak

Surprisingly, deleting this file doesn't seem to have any effect on the collaboration option in AbiWord?
