by mediums I mean, USB Disk, Video/Camera or SD, Memory Stick, etc. Plugging these mediums into a system and trying to control who can read, write, exec them is by no way trivial. It's virtually impossible. by unforeseen, there is no way to lock down these external mediums *before* they're attached and mounted. unlike harddisk, unforeseen mediums are just far too dynamic for users to have any kind of trivial control over them. this is where harddisk and external medium differ like night and day. It would be nice if full control over this type of medium was as simple as controlling the local harddisk.
