Well, same problem here on a VAIO VGN TZ11MN

What's funny is that with 7.04, plugin in the headphones did not mute the speakers, and now, speakers are always muted, whatever you tweak in alsamixer.

I'd rather see this as a bug with alsa than with gnome-session, but who am I to tell ?
