Comment 18 for bug 156013

Hi

Got same problem on my Thinkpad A31 [Intel 82801CA-ICH3 with AD1881A] running Ubuntu 8.10

Playback fine in jack but speaker no dice.

Checked alsamixer
Checked all Audio Controls like vol,switches,options
Installed linux-backports-modules
Complete reinstall of alsa via Synaptic
Complete compile/install with "ALSA Upgrade Script" - http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=6589810#post6589810
And did a whole lot surfing and what not.
Still no luck

Please advise and please reopen.
