Same issue with Ubuntu 16.04.1.

Same issue when installing Debian 8 (Jessie) 64-bit. I was able to install Debian by using Basic Graphics mode install, and installing proprietary NVIDIA drivers after basic graphics install.

Ubuntu goes straight to black screen, followed by a no signal message, monitor wake up, no signal message, repeat.
