Ingres is a venerable DBMS which has been open-sourced under the GPL by its' parent company. Many institutions (including mine!) still use it, but Ingres themselves only supply RPMs and a tgz - a proper Ubuntu package would be handy, especially for people like me who wish to have the option of developing Ingres applications on an Ubuntu sandpit box.
