Bug Description

Ingres is a venerable DBMS which has been open-sourced under the GPL by its' parent company. Many institutions (including mine!) still use it, but Ingres themselves only supply RPMs and a tgz - a proper Ubuntu package would be handy, especially for people like me who wish to have the option of developing Ingres applications on an Ubuntu sandpit box.

http://ingres.com/downloads.php

The Community Products section (http://ingres.com/downloads/prod-comm-download.php) contains the GPL version of the main DBMS, and you'll note that there are python drivers etc. available as well (http://ingres.com/downloads/prod-download-drivers.php) - it would be great if these could be packaged too but they're not essential.

Thank you for your report. Could you please give us a weblink to this soft ?

Thank you, I'm marking this as triaged, it will be proceeded by our motus.

I would also like to see Ingres 2006 packaged in Ubuntu and/or Debian as well as Python/PHP/Perl drivers.

If you need help packaging the dbms i can establish contact to Ingres European Technology Center, Germany.
