I have since found the following articles on Ubuntu website:

My Dell Latitude 3330 has Intel i3 processor (first link where processor not stated?), not i5 per second link, but this does leave me wondering whether my problem is that my Dell hardware requires either 5.14.0-1011-oem kernel (first link) or 5.14.0-1027-oem kernel (second link)?

... and is incapable of running/installing the standard 24.04 LTS download as implied at https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop#system-requirements in a stable manner? If so, I am unclear as to how to install Ubuntu to this laptop.
