just to show you how it is confusing the 12.04 doc vs 10.04

my students do prefer this toc, with indexed hierarchy:

in place of this flat enumeration

best regards,

If I want to be able to search the whole document, I use the PDF. I have
never been able to find anything in the HTML.

https://help.ubuntu.com/13.04/serverguide/serverguide.pdf

** Package changed: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) => serverguide

** Changed in: serverguide
       Status: New => Won't Fix

Bug description:
as a secondary school teacher, let me report you this feeback, from
young anti ms, and pro linux-gnu activist:

  ---  i need a samba info ?

  > i go to (version 10.04) :

  https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/serverguide/index.html

  >> <C-f> to find anything related to the key word  samba

  Samba and LDAP

  yyyyeeeeesss  :-)

  >> i want to move up the doc tree hierarchy:

at the top page, the links:

Ubuntu Documentation > Ubuntu 10.04 > Ubuntu Server Guide

  yyyyeeeeesss  :-)

  > now, if i go to version 12.04

  https://help.ubuntu.com/12.04/serverguide/index.html

  >> <C-f> to find anything related to the key word  samba:
     pattern not found !
   hooonoooow
    :-(

  >> i want to move up the doc tree hierarchy:

no more  Ubuntu Documentation > Ubuntu 12.04 > Ubuntu Server Guide

    noooooooooo
    :-(

  --- conclusion
  12.04 fails
   - the  doc tree hierarchy navigation ergonomy test
  - the samba direct access test, because the first-page-toc-index is not detailed enough !

  old 10.04 layout succeeds

  --- finale

  all the best

many thanks for pushing ahead linux-gnu
