I can't believe this bug has been open for so long. I just installed a fresh copy of Ubuntu 11.04 the installed Rhythmbox so I could use Ubuntu Music Store and support Ubuntu while buying music and its just not there. I too get the error when Rhythmbox is starting up.

(rhythmbox:3553): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

This is on my netbook so its a 32-bit system not sure if this would affect anything.
