Thinking about this, shouldn't the font size be something that the GTK style does for you? I suppose, if you have trouble reading the tweets, you problably also have trouble reading every other text which is written on the screen, so it probably would be the best thing to have a central place where you can change this, e.g. the GNOME control center or the new GNOME tweak tool.
