Sorry for the long testing time.

The patch doesn't work at it is. For fedora it should be
+exec @MONO@ @libdir@/@PACKAGE@/Pinta.exe "$@"

libdir in Fedora already includes the prefix, I'm not sure how other distros handle this however.
