Bug Description

Xchat-GNOME 0.11 is out, full ChangeLog is here: http://svn.navi.cx/misc/trunk/xchat-gnome/ChangeLog (yes, it's quite big)

It might be a good option to switch to that version for dapper, as it features configurable spellchecker support (fixes malone bug 35659 ), partial whois support (malone bug 34715 ), and a few misc fixes (at least bug 34858 and bug 35658 but I bet there are others, too). It also adds the ability to configure the level of messages above which it sends notifcations, which I was on my way to report as a wishlist bug :-)

The spellchecking changes requires libsexy >= 0.1.6, which would require changing the dependency from libsexy1 to libsexy2.

Thanks for your bug. The new tarball has been rolled on my request so we can ask an UVF exception for dapper, no need to file a bug about it. I've not uploaded yet because I had an issue with the showcolors option, Ctrl-C is broken (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=337531) and the "xchat CVS" sync part of the CVS is not trivial to review.

For libsexy there is only one source package to the archive any, so there is no way to build a package with libsexy1, on soname change we have to transition everything using the lib to the new version

It's only since libsexy 0.1.8 than the binary changes its name (due to ABI break).

I'll take a look this week-end and try to fix the bug.

I just fixed the Ctrl-C bug in upstream. http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=337531

What's your problem with the showcolors?

My issue wuth showcolors was that the gconf key was to false after (but the schemas default is to true, so it might be a bug of a previous version)
