I'm not sure to understand. What is your problem ?
The fact that python is in a superior version (i.e 2.5 and 2.7.3) is not a
problem, Python and then Openshot can manage that without any problem.
About MLT, its depends of your version that you have (libmlt4 is not used
since a lot of time, now it is libmlt5). I 'll give you like advice to
update it using this faq : https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1861
If you have any problems doing this operation, the best thing is to remove
MLT and check with synaptic (for sample) if all is removed. After,
reinstall Openshot (and then mlt).
See links in the faq, you have (normally) some screenshots showing you what
libraries is done mlt.
