Even with the recent fix, we still get some issues with combined characters:
- open the dash
- press ^
- press ^ again
-> ^ shows as expected
-> press ^ again
-> "^^" is displayed where other toolkits show only one "^" (and then, if you press o, it will shows: "^ô")
- close now the dash (escape)
- open it again
- press ^
-> ^ will show (still on the hold mode, you need to press "space" or another character so that you can finally enters an "ô").
This is the same with " and other dead keys
