If someone can test this is an issue in Karmic, it sounds like a bug to me. Having several windows pop up feels like a bad idea.
A 'paper cut' is a minor usability issue likely to effect an average user the first day using Ubuntu 9.10. This is not a 'paper cut' because the exposure to this bug is minimal. Is the average user really going to insert a HDD with more than one partition?
