Bug Description
By default, Nautilus opens automatically e.g. 3 new windows when an external HDD with 3 partitions is plugged in. It would be way better to use the tab functionality here in order to save space in the gnome panel.
In most cases you only want to open one of your partitions for copying files etc., that means that you would have to close the other ones which is not really a user friendly situation.

If someone can test this is an issue in Karmic, it sounds like a bug to me. Having several windows pop up feels like a bad idea.
A 'paper cut' is a minor usability issue likely to effect an average user the first day using Ubuntu 9.10. This is not a 'paper cut' because the exposure to this bug is minimal. Is the average user really going to insert a HDD with more than one partition?
