Did you install the AMD proprietary drivers for your graphic card ?
If so, did you install the ones from the repositories or the latest one from AMD's website ?
I'd recommend trying the ones from AMD's website and if you still have issues then try to completely remove proprietary drivers and see how it goes with the open source ones.
