Did you install the AMD proprietary drivers for your graphic card ?

If so, did you install the ones from the repositories or the latest one from AMD's website ?

I'd recommend trying the ones from AMD's website and if you still have issues then try to completely remove proprietary drivers and see how it goes with the open source ones.

Dr. Mr. LE BIHAN,

Currently it is better to avoid the combination of ATI Radeon driver
from the manufacturer and gnome 3 because this combination causes a lot
of problems. Also using Catalyst 11.11, is not a big improvement.

It works with gnome 3, but there is no 3D acceleration for Games etc.

A solution could be to install "mate".

Currently there is no reliable solution fr this issue available.

best regards,

Martin

When it does not, the best thing to do is to use the open source drivers (though they do not provide as good 3D acceleration as proprietary drivers).
I'm personnaly running the open source drivers and don't have any issues with them.

Unfortunately, as this point, there isn't really anything else to do until AMD releases updated drivers, that will hopefully solve those issues.

As you said, if you're willing to try it, using Mate could also be a solution, as those issues don't seem to occur on Mate.
